Skincare Routine for Acne Prone Skin

Hello Beauties!

Lately I’ve been having the most problematic skin ever! The whole “traveling on vacation” thing has really caused my skin to break out like it has never before. I have tried so many drugstore products in the last 2 months to help my acne go away, but nothing was doing the trick. I’ve tried so many cleansers, toners, spot treatments, and face lotions. My skin was just a mess! Finally I found out that when dealing with acne, less is more. I decided to cut out many products from my skincare routine until I was only left with 3. I found that the following products have DRAMATICALLY made a change to my skin. It reduced my acne a lot because, let me tell you, my acne was not pretty at all. I had huge cluster of pimples, to the point I couldn’t even wear makeup because they just looked even worse the more I tried to cover them up. But enough of me chit chatting, let’s go right into the 3 products that have really changed my skin! (Keep in mind, I am not a skincare professional. These following products have worked for me and may or may not work for you since everybody is different.)

I decided to obviously leave a facial cleanser in my skincare routine. I think something really important when dealing with acne is to always wash your face at the end of the day in order for your pores to not clog up. If you risk not washing your face and you are anything like me, you wake up with new little friends just sitting on your face that are as red as tomato. I make sure to wash my face right before I go to sleep and as soon as I wake up. The facial cleanser that has really helped out my skin through this rough time is the Clean & Clear Morning Burst Shine Control Facial Cleanser (even though it says morning, I use it at night too).

This particular cleanser is oil-free and it has little bursting beads that really get into my pores. It is hypoallergenic and it smells amazing!

The next product is a face lotion that I recently discovered and has really changed my skin. I was using the Pond’s face lotion, but it was just not cutting it. I decided to go with a recommendation my sister made to me since she had read great reviews on the product.

The Neutrogena Rapid Clear Acne Defense face lotion has worked wonders on my acne! I apply the lotion in the morning and at night and so far, it has dramatically reduced my pimples! The first time I tried it was at night-time and by the time I woke up, my pimples reduced in size significantly. I tried the toner from the line Rapid Clear by Neutrogena and I found it dried out my skin a lot. Fortunately, the lotion hasn’t dried out my skin. On the other hand, it is very moisturizing and even cooling at the touch. By far, one of my favorite face lotions!

The next product may be a little odd, well that’s what I thought when the YouTuber. Kim Thai, recommended it. When she said in one of her videos that she used Vaseline to help her acne, I was a bit surprised and I just had to try it out to see if it would even make a difference.

No lie guys, I applied Vaseline on my stubborn pimples the night before and by the time I woke up, my pimples had dramatically reduced in size! I couldn’t believe it actually worked! Now I apply it on my stubborn pimples at night and by the time I wake up, they are almost gone! This has become my go to spot treatment.

I hope this post was helpful for anybody that has been struggling with acne like I have recently. Remember, results vary depending on the person. For some people, it may not even work since we all have different skin types. Although, it never hurts to try, right? If you try or have tried any of these products, leave me a comment down below on how they worked out for you. If you guys use any other products to get rid of stubborn acne, I would love to hear about them too! Other than that, I hope you all have a fantastic day!

P.S. Sorry for being so MIA guys, this post was supposed to go up on Thursday of last week but school has been very hectic (and it’s just the first week *cries and eats ice cream*). I have also caught a nasty cold that has left me in bed rest for today. I hate missing school, but all I can do is hope I get better by tomorrow. I also hate how I haven’t had time to blog!! I’m fixing my schedule and trying to organize my life in order to give more content to you guys and also start a YouTube Channel. I hope to talk to you all soon! Love you guys!

  1. I’ve been using Vaseline for my lips and this is the first time I read using it on pimples. I must try this. Clean and clear is a go to brand for acne prone skin, or so I’ve been told and I’m using a facial was from them. Great article 🙂
