Product Review: BH Cosmetics Contour and Blush Palette

Hey guys I’m back with my first official post!! By the way, Happy St.Patrick’s Day!!! Took me a while to actually get this up because as you can see, I’m still trying to get a hang of this so bear with me. With that being said, let’s get started!

Contour kits/palettes have become really popular the past year, especially for the well-know Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit. Although it is a great palette well worth your money, I decided to try to find something similar to it but at a lower price for all you who are trying to not spend so much and are on a budget like me. So I decided to buy the BH Cosmetics Contour and Blush Palette since BH Cosmetics offers great quality products for a very low price (which is a big plus in my book). BH Cosmetics always has sales, so prices are always changing. I purchased the palette not to long ago for $12.95, originally it says it is $18.95 but as I said, they always have sales going on. Right now they have it for $14.95. BH Cosmetics does have two different contour and blush palettes, I purchased the original one which has lighter contour colors since my skin color is light to medium. The second contour palette has darker shades that would compliment beautifully medium to dark skin tones. The picture above is the palette outside its original packaging. The palette comes with 6 matte shades that include highlight, contour and blush.IMG_0202The palette is really big compared to others. The colors were a little darker than the picture online and the front of the box. The palette pigments have a really velvety feel to them, which I love. Let me tell you that they are also very pigmented, especially the blushes! Below are swatches of the palette, keep in mind the pigmentation for just one swipe.

The pigments blended really easily on the skin making the process of contouring surprisingly fast. One of the cons of the product is that pigment number 4 above was a little chalky, but it blended really nice at the end. Overall, I think this is a really good palette especially for those on a budget. You do get your money’s worth and you receive so much product for such a low price. I totally recommend the palette and if you are interested in knowing more about the product or want to purchase it click here.

  1. I’ve been looking for a contour palette but I’m so pale do you think this would work with my skin? I have so many bh cosmetics palettes so I do love them but 5 looks way too dark for my pale self.

    1. If you have really pale/fair skin, I don’t really recommend this palette because it is really pigmented and the colors are more to the warm side. Since you have pale skin I recommend cool colors. I have yet to find a contour palette for really fair skin at an affordable price. Although, I have found a product to contour that I think would be perfect for your skin tone. To contour you should use the NYX blush in Taupe. I know it is a blush but it is a brownish cool color that would be perfect for you. Not only that but I think the NYX blush in Peach would compliment beautifully that contour color. The best part is that they are only $5 and they are super nice quality and long lasting. I will leave the links below if you are interested. I hope this helped you out a bit 🙂
